Deval Bathrooms [Cambridge] have expert tilers with experience in installing all types of tiles and will be able to advise you on what would be most suitable to use in your bathroom project.
Ceramic tiles can be used on floors and walls, are very durable and come in many styles, colours, patterns, textures and finishes. Ceramic tiles are made primarily of clay and mixed with various minerals and water and then processed with heat to make a solid, heat, dirt and mould resistant product.
Porcelain tiles are similar to ceramic tiles, but are denser due to the inclusion of fine sand and higher temperatures used in the production process. Porcelain tiles are hard wearing, can be used on walls or floors, offer versatility and provide a sleek and contemporary look to your bathroom.
Limestone, marble, granite, travertine and slate tiles are all natural stone products which are quarried from the earth. Some are extremely hard, and others quite soft; they may need sealing depending on how porous they are. Natural stone tiles are becoming increasingly popular, the subtle colours and shades these tiles offer ensures your bathroom a luxurious feel.
Glass tiles can be produced in every colour you can imagine. Splash backs can be custom made to the size you require or used as very small mosaic, decorative or border tiles.
Unglazed ceramic floor tiles are not suitable for bathrooms and are more suited to commercial and industrial settings, but can be used in laundries and utility rooms. They are available with a non-slip profile.
Mosaics are very small tiles that can be glazed or unglazed. These small tiles can be made from porcelain, ceramic, glass or natural stone.
